The World of Wonder project, funded by Yorkshire Forward, is open to secondary schools in Leeds and Bradford.  The project aims to improve and increase the number of learners participating, achieving and progressing in STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) through new technologies available at the centre.

WOW AcademyMichele Sutton, Principal and Chief Executive of Bradford College, launched the event.  Guest speakers also included Stella Guy, a member of the Board of Yorkshire Forward and Mr Steve Dale of Education Bradford, both of whom are actively involved with the project.  The event concluded with an exhibition of work from schools involved in the project, with children awarded prizes for their efforts.

On Thursday 27th September, Bradford College’s Innovative Technologies Centre launched the ‘WOW’ Digital and Creative Media Hub, which will be the regional focal point for digital and creative media sectors. The Hub is housed at the Bradford College, Innovative Technologies Centre, Victoria Building, 88 Thornton Road, Bradford.

The event was hosted by Bradford College Principal and Chief Executive, Michelle Sutton. Other key speakers included Stuart McFarlane, Cluster Development Manager from Yorkshire Forward, Bill Lawrence, Head of Film at The National Media Museum, Richard Everiss, Managing Director of Yorkshire Planetarium, Peter White, Incubator Advisor from Business Link, and Martyn Chesters from Space Connections.
